Description

All-purpose season salt flavors meats, casseroles, and dips on its own or in combination with fresh chopped onion and/or garlic.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup fine sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons ground sweet paprika (Hungarian when possible)
  • 2 tablespoons ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon nigella sativa (black seeds)
  • 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon kelp granules
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 cup parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary leaves

Instructions

  1. Add ½ cup fine sea salt, 3 tablespoons ground sweet paprika, and 2 tablespoons ground turmeric to a small mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. Place 1 teaspoon nigella sativa, 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns, ½ teaspoon kelp granules, and ½ teaspoon celery seed in a spice grinder. Pulse 10-15ish times. Grind the spices until they are fine (like sand), but not powdery. Add the spices to the small mixing bowl with the salt. Mix well.
  3. Next, add ¼ cup parsley flakes, 1 teaspoon oregano leaves, and 1 teaspoon rosemary leaves to the spice grinder and pulse 5-7 times. Again, aim for a fine, sandy texture. Add these spices to the small mixing bowl as well.
  4. Stir spices with a whisk until evenly mixed. Store seasoning in an airtight container.
